The Captains

Captain John is our resident "Professor of Fishing and Boating" for Alaska Action Anglers Lodge.

Captain Ferrell gained his extensive fishing experience as a charter boat fisherman in the waters of Southern California and Homer, Alaska logging over 6000 days of fish catching experience.

As many continue to say, and have said about him over the past 3 decades, "John Ferrell KNOWS how to put people on the fish." John has been fishing since he was about 4 or 5 years old and he started fishing professionally at age 14.

John got his captain's license at age 23 and is licensed as a Master of Steam or Motor vessels of up to 100 gross tons and is certified in First Aid, CPR and Heartsaver AED.

He enjoys having the opportunity to introduce the Alaska Action Anglers Lodge guests to some of the most amazing fishing of their lives.
